Agape Word Church was founded in February 1999 by God through Pastors Reginald & Victoria Dunston. Ministry at this time had 2 members, the pastors and their family. Agape Word Church started as an independent church in their home and in the month of March in 1999, the church secured a time slot at Lake Gem Elementary to hold its services.
We were faithful in that location and God prospered us and we grew and eventually secured a location on Edgewater Drive. We began to have Hour of Power meetings and began to gain more members. Many were saved, set free and delivered in this location.
God began to deal with us about the overflow in 1999 and he led us to a facility on Silver Star Road and in January of 2000, we moved. The 5000 Silver Star location was a learning experience for this ministry. When it was time to go from this location we went into the Radisson (downtown) and then to the clubhouse at Seminole Ridge Apartments. We experienced more growth in this location than we did in the history of our fellowship.
We secured a location at 6932 Old Winter Garden Rd., Orlando and we stayed in this location for 2 years. It is here where we began to establish a real leadership team. Many were added to the church and many were transitioned from location and several could not make the move when we moved back to 5336 Silver Star Rd., Orlando, FL. In our Old Winter Garden location we started our private school with 7 students. As we moved to the new Silver Star location our school grew to 99 by the time be left March 2006. Currently we are the verge of 150 students as God has miraculously given us our current location at 6837 Lakeville Rd., Orlando. This was a miraculous move indeed we purchased this building for $1.5 million dollars with less than 150 people. God is a supernatural God and he gave us a supernatural move so that we would be in the center of his will.
On June 15, 2003 we made history as we ordained our first set of deacons and licensed ministers.
In the history of this ministry God has graced us with several national and international speakers such as, Helen Baylor, Pastor Sheryl Brady, Evangelist Laura Pickett, Pastor Cynthia Brazelton, Prophet Charles Dixon, Apostle Kimberly Daniels, Dr. Pat Francis, Dr. Cindy Trimm, Martha Munnizzi, Williams Murphy, Dr. Yvonne Capehart and many more. We anticipate that this church is about to explode in growth.
